Autumn in France brings the return of lively funfairs and the vibrant countdown to Halloween. Right in the heart of Bordeaux, an energetic festival grounds springs to life: endless food stands serving hot comfort food, crispy potatoes, fresh churros, and candied apples dripping in rich chocolate.
Families wander past a wide variety of shooting galleries—featuring everything from airsoft rifles and traditional bows to realistic pellet guns. Nearby, magnetic duck ponds and classic carnival games fill the air with excitement, where you can soak up the festive atmosphere without spending a dime just by being there.

The absolute showstopper, however, is a colossal pendulum ride carrying at least thirty riders, swinging to heights over 60 meters at speeds reaching 120 km/h. Standing on the ground directly along its path of motion, the sheer scale of the engineering leaves you speechless. With every swing, the heavy gondola climbs higher and higher until it completes a full 360-degree inversion. At its highest point, it hangs upside down for about ten seconds—though from below, it feels like an eternity. Just watching it from solid ground makes your chest tighten and your pulse race.

All around, the city streets are in full festive gear, with shop windows decorated in pumpkins and witch hats. Down one side street sits a large, glowing cauldron producing a rolling layer of mysterious fog. Bordeaux is fully immersed in the season, blending autumn warmth with high-octane thrills.
